St. Anna’s is a not-for-profit, fully accredited facility who welcomes people from all communities, non-ethnic or religious-specific, and is free of harassment and discrimination.  The facility is conveniently located near the city at 41 Burley Griffin Blvd, Brompton, 5007.

St. Anna’s Residential Care Facility (until 1/10/1997 known as St. Anna’s Hostel)  was built primarily in response to the needs of the frail elderly of the Croatian, Ukrainian and Belarus communities.

St. Anna’s provides both permanent and respite accommodation for 60 residents .

St. Anna’s has been built as one Facility, but is divided into sections, thus allowing  small groups of residents to have their own communal dining, kitchen and lounge rooms.   All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, built-in robes and cupboards.

The Facility provides low and high level care depending on assessed needs and resources available to adequately meet these needs. Staff are on duty 24 hours a day, with an RN on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. However as residents’ needs change, a consultation of all interested parties will be conducted.  Assessment of increased needs and resources available at St. Anna’s will be undertaken on an individual basis.

The individual needs of each resident are the focus of care, especially, where possible, maintaining the resident’s prior lifestyle and contact with their community.  ACAT approval is required prior to placement.

St. Anna’s understands that the transition from home to residential care can be difficult for both residents and their families and it takes time to adjust to community living and unfamiliar surroundings.  Family and friends are encouraged to visit and take their loved ones to functions and outings and are invited to share in activities, or join in for a meal at the facility if desired, at a small cost.

Although St Anna’s can never replace one’s own home, the staff strive to provide a “home-like” environment, focussing on the “individual lifestyle” of each resident.
